Halloween

Ashlyn, of course, had to be a princess and Caleb was our little Superman. We had so much fun trick or treating with our cousins, we only wish we lived a bit closer.

Carving Pumpkins

One day I'll remember to add the pictures in the right order...Anyway here is the fun we had carving pumpkins with my sister's kids. Ashlyn wasn't too sure about getting her hands dirty in the pumpkin to clean it out. I think I ended up doing most of the work.

Caleb's Blessing

Caleb was blessed on Sunday, October 26, 2008. It was a bit different than what I expected, but it turned out great just the same. My parents and Tonya's family all came into town. My brother's family was suppose to be here too, but it didn't quite work out with the flights. We also had Mike's brother's family over for the blessing. We had a big house full of people. It was great for Caleb's special day. We had planned on blessing Caleb at church, but Michael ended up getting really sick on Saturday night and could hardly get out of bed on Sunday. The bishop gave us permission to bless Caleb at the house with my dad and Brandon helping out Michael. Michael got off the couch just long enough to stand up and bless Caleb and then he was back down. It took him a few days, but finally got over the stomach bug he had. I was amazed that only Ashlyn and my mom got a bit of it. Thank goodness it didn't spread any farther than that with all the people we had here, it was a miracle. We had a great time with everyone here, and I'll post more pictures of our outings later. I was so blessed that everyone could come share Caleb's special day with us.

Our Trip to Utah

Ashlyn, Caleb and I got back a few weeks ago from a trip to Utah. We were only suppose to be there about a week and a half, but ended up staying for 3 weeks. That's the nice thing about having a sister who works for Jet Blue and flying stand by. We can extend our vacation if we want to and it doesn't matter. Thanks Tonya! We went out there for my nephew, Boston's baptism. I can't believe that he is already 8. It seems like yesterday we were at the hospital waiting for him to be born. Time flies! Below are some pics from our trip. We had a blast hanging out with our family.

Oh no...they're in jail!!! Can they stay for awhile so Tonya and I can have a break??

Our first family camp out!

I was really going to try and stay on top of blogging, but I went to Utah and ended up staying 3 weeks instead of just one. Oh well...I had fun at least.
We headed out to go camping on Saturday, September 20. We got the truck all packed and drove out to South Mountain to find out that all of their campsites were full. Camping in NC is different than Utah camping because you actually have to use a campsite. You can't just find a good spot in the mountains and set up. Mike and I knew if Ashlyn didn't get to go she would be extremely upset because she was so excited about it. She was thrilled to be able to use her new princess sleeping bag in the tent. So instead of disappointing a three year old and living with those consequences, we headed over to Mike's brother's house and camped in their backyard. We would have done it in our yard, but it has too much of a slope. We even went and bought a fire pit so we could roast hot dogs and make smores. Ashlyn had a blast. Her cousins even slept outside with us. Caleb was all wrapped up and stayed toasty warm in his bouncer. It was a camping trip we'll never forget!

Ashlyn had to try out her camping chair before we left South Mountain.

Trike-a-thon

Ashlyn had her first Trike-a-thon today to support St. Jude's Children Hospital. She participated with her preschool. She thought she was pretty hot stuff riding a big girl bike and wearing a princess helmet that we borrowed from the neighbors. Ashlyn had lots of fun trying to pedal and steer. We realized that we need to do a lot more practicing with her. Some of those 3 year olds could really cruise around on their bikes.

Ashlyn is patiently waiting.
Caleb and I are waiting for it to start.

After I got all the pictures uploaded, I realized I did it backwards. Sorry, I'm still learning.
